up on the roof

Whats up everyone! I've been busy working on my first blog for WDW Fan Zone which has now been published! go check it out http://www.wdwfanzone.com/  I've also been on holiday just to get away for a week.
But i'm back and this week we have a great detail and a great example of character design.

Lets head over to Dinoland U.S.A at Disney's Animal Kingdom and look at Restaurantasaurus


Now on the roof of Restaurantasaurus lies a great detail and is relevent to the story of Dinoland U.S.A. This can easily be missed or not understood.

The story is The Dinoland Institute are doing projects on dinousaurs in the town but some cheeky grad students have decided to have a bit of fun inbetween digs .

They have made a nice chillout place ontop of the restaurant and have even come up with a game to play when they get bored.  

Notice the Mcdonalds packaging on the cooler where it looks like they have gotten a bit peckish and headed to Petrifries. I dont know if this is still ontop of the roof now that Mcdonalds is out of the parks.



This is the game they have came up with. The adjacent watertower is a perfect target to fire plungers into. How do they get the plungers back? They have made a rig with a bucket on from the restaurant to the water tower so they don't have to use any effort to get them back.

Thats it for today! Yet another great detail from Disney! they could easily have not put anything there, but thats not how the imagineers roll! everything has a story!
